Week 11… Micros are touughhhhh

Another tough week done. What a grind for these low limits. Here are the results:

Week11

So I played 7K hands and ended down 9 buy ins. I did run a little badly but it’s still a big loss. These low limits ends up beeing way tougher than I thought. But I’m not really in a rush or on a timetable so I’ll keep going at it.

Here are my totals for the challenge so far:

Week11Total

Week11TotalGraphSo I’m now up a total of 7 buy ins at 5 NL with my total winnings being 155$. I’m gonna start and concentrate a bit more on this challenge and try and get a good stretch of weeks going.

Here is my biggest pot won for the week:

https://www.weaktight.com/r/55d1e795d3904334248b4624

Here it’s pretty standard for me. When he raises preflop and then just flats my 3 bet I put him on a lot of Qs on the flop like AQ, KQ, JJ, 10 10, Flush draws. With that wide of a range I’m not scared to put it in over his raise on the flop.

Here is my biggest pot lost:

https://www.weaktight.com/r/55d1e880d390432f558b4567

Here it’s so often that he has quads but I just couldn’t make the tough fold.

So another week done and my bankroll now stands at 235$. Have a nice week grinding everyone

Week 10… Poor start strong finish

Hi all,

Another week of grinding done and here are this week’s results.

Week10  So this week I logged in 8.5k hands and made around 4.5 buy ins. The week started with my roll staying about the same and then the last few days went pretty good as I made all my profit there. Weekend are the best times to play because the games seems softer.

Here are my totals so far.

Week10Total

Week10TotalGraph

So after 10 weeks I’m up a total of 200$ with 80$ from 5NL and the rest from 2NL. The winrate as dropped pretty significantly at 5NL. Missing another 25 buy ins for the next level.

Here is the biggest pot lost for the week:

https://www.weaktight.com/r/55c8c245d39043244e8b4768

Nothing really to talk about here. I always get KK in at around 100bb.

Here is my biggest won pot for the week

https://www.weaktight.com/r/55c8c2b7d39043713e8b4668

Here I think I  kind of missplayed the turn. There’s no real reason to raise it up there because there’s no threat on the board. On top of flopping the nuts, I’m also drawing to the flush. I don’t want to make overpairs fold or even AJ type hands that would have catch the J on the turn. My reasoning is that I want to build the pot for a good river shove but I think I make more money here by just flatting the turn and letting him bluff or hero call me on the river.

So my bankroll is now at 280$ and I’m gonna keep going this week

Week 9…. Back on the upswing

Well after a well needed week off from poker I got back into the grind this week and I managed a nice little volume of 8.6 k hands. Here are the results:

Week9So as you can see I managed a nice 11 buy ins this week. I ran a bit good with my EV at about half my actual winnings. It’s kind of funny to say but I found the jump from 2 NL to 5 NL to be quite big. The regs are way bettter and there’s way less fish throwing their money at me. The concentration hasn’t really been there though as the heat is getting to me.

Here are my totals so far.

Week9Total

Week9TotalGraph

So I’m up to 178$ profit with the graphic looking pretty solid except for a few small bumps down the road.

Here is my biggest pot won for the week.

https://www.weaktight.com/r/55bf90c4d390435c1e8b4567

Here is my breakdown of this hand. So the original flatter on my left is a very loose guy who is playing 70% of hands so I’m not really scared of him but the squeezer has very tight stats so I figured he’s pretty strong here. That’s why I decide not too ship it preflop here. Once he half bets a pretty scary board, I want to get it in quickly to prevent draws. When the fish and the original squeezer both call I’m pretty sure I’m behind. In this instance it was the best case scenario that both of them we’re drawing to the flush. Maybe just shoving preflop was better.

Here is my biggest pot lost of the week.

https://www.weaktight.com/r/55bf9419d39043dc728b4680

Here it’s pretty standard I just call the all in because I don’t want the third guy to fold. I’m always getting it in here on the flop.

So after 9 weeks my bankroll is up to 258$. See ya next week.

Week 8

I’ll make it quick this week as I’m in vacation in Montreal. Here are this week’s results

Week8So I was only able to manage 5000 hands but was able to get back on track with a 6 buy in profit.

Here are my totals

Week8Total

Week8TotalGRAPHSo I’m up 123$ total profit so far with about breakeven on 5 NL. Kind of struggling to put in the hours as I’m pretty buzy this summer.

I’ll skip the biggest pot won or lost for the week as I don’t have my Holdem manager with me here

So my bankroll is now at 203$

I won’t have a blog for next week as I’m taking the week off from playing.

Thanks

Week7

Another week done and I can finally say I have had my first downswing. Here are this week’s results….

Week 7

So down 6.5 buy ins for the week in a little more then 7k hands. I honestly can say that I didn’t play very well this week. I made bad call downs made bad bluffs and just made poor decisions overall. I notice a pretty big improvement in the players in just this switch of levels. There’s way less fish and way more 3 betting and squezing.

Here are my totals now

Week7Total

Week7TotalGraphSo a pretty big downswing on the graph there. Nothing much else to say.

Biggest pot won for the week.

https://www.weaktight.com/r/55a3d874d39043a4658b46c5

Here the guy who overjammed the flop was playing 100% of hands so when the original squeezer folds to his jam. I think it’s an easy call on the fish with an overbet which I tend to think is not extremely strong.

Here is my biggest pot lost for the week.

https://www.weaktight.com/r/55a3d924d39043a07d8b47ec

Here my plays are quite questionable. First off I open a weakish hand UTG. Then I decide to overshove an pretty naked flush draw on the flop for 150bbs. The only reason I decided to shove that flop was because he was check raising the flop quite often (33%). But if you think about it I was against the best scenario with him holding QQ there. He could easily have had a set, 2 pair etc. Then my A wouldn’t eaven have mattered.

After 7 weeks My bankroll is down at 172$. I’ll try and get it back on track for next week.

Week 6

Hi,

Another week done and I have finally moved up to 5 NL. I ran pretty good at 2NL this week which gave me the 40 buy ins up needed to move to the next limit. Here are my weekly results…

Week6So up  a total of 37$ with around 8000 hands played. The majority of the winnings  coming from 2NL. I had a bit of a hard time for the first 3000 hands of 5 NL which I figure is just the adjustement period. The regs seemed a bit better and I felt I was getting 3 bet and squeezed a bit more.

Here are the totals after 6 weeks.

Week6TOTAL

Week6TOTALGraphSo it took me 47 000 hands to win 60 buy ins at 2 NL for a very respectable 13bb/100 win rate. I expect the win rate to drop in each higher level I get into. At 2 NL you get value bet so thinly as people call you down with really marginal hands. The graphic also looks pretty solid except for that small dip when I started playing 5 NL near the 120$ mark.

Here is my biggest pot won for the week.

https://www.weaktight.com/r/559a7ee7d3904384528b4705

Here I decide to call the overshove all in because he insta did it and usually you see a ton of AK in there. It was also one of my first few hands there and didn’t know really what to expect. Not sure if this a positive EV play but I don’t think it’s bad.

Here is my biggest pot lost for the week…

https://www.weaktight.com/r/559a81f0d390439e168b474d

Here we have a 4 handed hand with a bunch of guys I have no data on but once the villain calls the original raiser and only flats my squezze I tend to put them on medium strenght hands. I think it’s a no brainer to shove the turn here because I obviously flop and turn some monster draws and you can add the fold equity of many top pair type hands for my opponent in there. Ended up he had a monster but I still don’t think it was a bad play.

So I now stand with a bankroll of 202$.

See ya next week

Week 5

Hi,

Another week done and here are the results…

Week5

Up 8 buy ins this week with only 8000 hands played. I had a bit of trouble for the first half of the week but then things changed around near the end. The toughest thing about this challenge for me so far is actually putting in enough hands to move quickly. I’m still playing my usual games and when they are good, which is quite often lately I put this challenge aside. If only playing this I could probably easily put in 15 to 20 k Hands per week 4 tabling.

Here are my totals so far

Week5TOTAL

Week5TOTALGraphUp to 87$ so 43 buy ins. I need another 33$ to move up to 5 NL. Graphic looks pretty solid, especially in the second half.

Here is my biggest pot lost of the week.

https://www.weaktight.com/r/55917bc2d390439a1c8b456a

Nothing really to talk about here, This is pretty standard.

Here is my biggest pot won for the week.

https://www.weaktight.com/r/55917c4bd390439a1c8b457f

This is also pretty standard. This guy had a pretty big 3 bet % so I’m pretty sure I’m ahead on the turn. His most likely hands are either a pair +draw or a smaller overpair than me. At these levels you can just play your good hands fast and sometimes you’ll get some hero calls.

So my bankroll is now 167$ and I’m hoping this will be my final week at 2 NL.

Week 4

This week was all business. Went from 50$ to 70$ in a steady climb. Here are the stats.

Week4

I was only able to manage 8000 hands as I had a pretty busy weekend and couldn’t play at all. Up 12 buy ins this week.  Other then that I don’t have much more to say as it was a pretty uneventfull week.

Here are my total stats and total graph.

Week4TOTAL

Week4TOTALGraphSo I am up to more than halfway to the next level of 5NL with my bankroll going from 80$ to 151$. I need 40 buy ins which is 200$ to move up to 5 NL. I could probably move up now because variance is way less of a factor in these micro limits but I’ll follow the rules I set up in the beginning of the challenge.

Here is the biggest pot won for the week

https://www.weaktight.com/r/5588a04da52511247e909cf0

Here is kind of a no brainer when he doesn’t 3 bet me preflop I’m taking out AA KK from his range so when he check raises the turn his range is really polarised into quads and something I beat so it’s an easy call especially at these limits.

Here is my biggest pot lost for the week

https://www.weaktight.com/r/5588a1d7a52511c418909d47

Here I’m not sure I should call the river but all the draws missed and I felt it was a bit weird to just donk a monster on the flop so that’s why I called 3 streets.

Bankroll is now 151$.

See you next week.

Week 3

Hi,

Another week done and it was a good one for the challenge. Here are the results of my week.

Week 3

So I played 8.3k hands this week and was up 25$ so 12.5 buy ins. I started out the first day down a few buy ins but really bounced back after that and went on a kind of roll.

Here is my total at 2NL

Week3TOTAL

Week3GRAPHtotal

So up to 47$ in 3 weeks with a winrate of 9 bb/100 which is pretty good.

After 3 weeks I have a pretty good feel for the limit. Of course this limit has way more loose players that plays over 50% of hands. I try to see some flops with suited connectors and small pairs against them because when you hit you often get paid. People don’t like to fold in this limit so you probably should never bluff. It’s just not worth it. I find the regulars are way tighter and cbets work quite often.

Here is my biggest pot won for the week.

https://www.weaktight.com/r/557ef43ca52511e40f909d2e

Obvisously here I got extremely lucky. Here is my reasoning when the first guy makes it 24 I think he’s pretty strong. I never put the second guy on AA  because he just calls the 24 and most people would just raise it up here. I’m thinking I can go heads up with the first guy and make the second guy fold when I ship it here. I was way off here but got lucky.

Here is my biggest pot lost for the week.

https://www.weaktight.com/r/557ef5d6a525118857909ce6

Here is my reasoning on this hand. First off the guy had pretty tight stats so when he 3 bets me I don’t put him on a small pair. When he raises the flop after checking I don’t really put him on AA or KK because most people would just cbet with those. So I think he either has a set (Mostly JJ) or a flush draw. So when the turn bricks I decide to go with my read and just raise him and get it in.

So my bankroll is now at 127$ and I’m gonna keep grinding it up.

Week 2

Hi,

I have been at it for two weeks now and here are my results…

Week2

I played again close to 9k hand for the week but unlike last week I only won around 2 and a half buy in. I had trouble getting a big day. I often had to fold pretty big hands because of tough situations. It just didn’t quite work out like last week. I’m still up a few buy ins so it’s kind of hard to complain. Funny thing is I killed my regular stakes and I just couldn’t get it going in the micro stakes. After a few weeks I’m kind of starting to learn how to play these small stakes and I think I should have a few good weeks in me.

So this brings me to my total stats and graphs….

Week2Total

Graphtotalweek2

So after 2 weeks I’m up around 21$ (10.5 buy ins) at 1cent – 2cent blinds with a bb/100 of 6 which is pretty good. I read somewhere that anything over 4 was considered very good.

Here is my biggest pot of the week

https://www.weaktight.com/r/5575eceda525117d2c909d0a

In this hand the guy I’m playing against has really tight stats. When he doesn’t 4 bet me preflop I can pretty much take out AA from his range. So it’s most likely hands on the flop is AK, AQ KK QQ JJ with one suit. When he calls the flop and turn I can take out KK QQ JJ from his range so that pretty much leaves AK AQ with one suit. That’s why I shove the river because I have a hard time thinking he’s got me beat.

Here is my biggest lost pot of the week…

https://www.weaktight.com/r/5575ee9fa52511050c909d8f

Okay I know maybe calling the raise out of position preflop wasn’t the best, but he kind of priced me in with that small 3 bet and that guy had loose stats. Once I hit the flop like I did it’s kind of hard to fold especially with that weird min bet the first guy made. Made my mind early that I wasn’t folding this one. I was up against the worst scenario, but I still had  a few outs.

So my bankroll is now 101$ and I’m gonna keep grinding those micro stakes.

See you next week.
